Friends,
I was delighted to speak this past Palm Sunday at Restore Austin, a wonderful church led by my friend Zach Lambert. In this sermon I consider several traditional understandings of the Cross before zeroing in on this one: The Cross as a Miscarriage of Justice. Watch for the moral implications for Christ-followers, at the end of the message, with the reminder that the way of Jesus includes striving for justice and being willing to carry our crosses too.
I wish all my readers a thoughtful and meaningful Easter weekend.

Excellent message with such a wonderful emphasis on the Kingdom of God and the call for justice and mercy. So truthful and timeless. What a privilege is ours to not only follow Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, but help usher in the Kingdom, here and now. How I pray we’ll be faithful.
Thank you.
What an incisive, powerful and timely sermon!
The only thing I would add is that the Herod in question is Herod Antipas who had the John the Baptist executed and who also interviewed Jesus. Most of us could a program to sort out the different Herods.
